Slow Cooker French Onion Chicken

This slow cooker French onion chicken can be easily prepared in the morning for a home cooked meal at night.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 3 hours

Yield: 4-6 Servings




2 lbs Chicken Breasts, Sliced into Filets Lengthwise

1 Large Sweet Onion, Thinly Sliced

2 tbsp Ghee, Melted

2 tsp Minced Garlic

1.5 cups Beef Broth

½ cup Noble Made Citrus & Herb Marinade

½ tsp Dried Thyme

OPTIONAL: 1/3 cup Gruyere or Swiss Cheese, shredded

Salt & Pepper to Taste





  1. In a medium sized bowl, whisk together ghee, thyme, minced garlic, beef broth and Noble Made Citrus & Herb Marinade.


  1. Add in sliced onions to the bottom of a crockpot and pour in half of beef broth marinade mixture and stir to fully coat onions.


  1. Layer the chicken breast filets over the onions. Pour remaining marinade over chicken breast and cover crock pot.


  1. Cook on HIGH for 3 hours or LOW for 6-8 hours. Serve chicken breasts with onions on top.  OPTIONAL:  Add gruyere or swiss cheese on top of chicken breasts during last 30 minutes of cooking
