Others say it was the Port of New York where the modern-day hamburger first was sold. Regardless of its origin, the hamburger is a true American favorite and we’re celebrating it for National Hamburger Day!

BBQ Meatloaf Hamburger with Crispy Onions

BBQ Meatloaf Burger Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 onion, finely diced
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/4 cup + 2 tbsp Noble Made BBQ Sauce (Classic or Mustard)
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 onion powder
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil

Crispy Onion Ingredients:

  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup arrowroot flour or tapioca flour
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup avocado oil

BBQ Meatloaf Burger Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to Bake at 350°F.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Preheat skillet over medium heat with 2 tbsp of avocado oil, then add diced onion and minced garlic.
  4. Sauté for 5-7 minutes or until onions become translucent. Remove from heat and set aside.
  5. In a large bowl, add in ground beef, egg, 1/4 cup BBQ sauce, seasonings, and the sautéed onion and garlic.
  6. Mix until well combined, but don’t overwork the meat.
  7. Once mixed, form into 6 burger patties. Place on baking sheet then you will use the rest of the BBQ sauce to spread it on top of the burgers.

  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes depending on the thickness of the burgers.

Crispy Onion Instructions:

  1. Meanwhile, preheat a skillet over medium-high heat with avocado oil.
  2. In a shallow bowl, crack the eggs and beat until well combined.
  3. In another shallow bowl, mix in arrowroot flour, kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. Add the onion slices to the eggs making sure they are completely coated.
  5. Remove onion slices and place them in an arrowroot flour mixture. Make sure the onion slices are coated.
  6. Using tongs, remove onions from the arrowroot flour mixture, shake off excess, and then add to the preheated skillet.
  7. Fry the onion slices for about 7-10 minutes or until golden brown making sure to flip the onions every so often.
  8. Serve the crispy onions over the meatloaf burgers with a little more BBQ sauce.

  1. Preheat your gas grill: turn on your gas grill and heat it up until the temperature stays around 350°F-400°F.
  2. Prepare your turkey burgers: In a medium-sized bowl, add ground turkey, almond flour, salt, and pepper.
  3. Combine the seasoning into the meat without over mixing, just until everything is combined.
  4. Form into 4 patties that are 1/2” thick.
  5. Evenly distribute Noble Made Buffalo Seasoning on each side of the turkey burger.
  6. Grill Turkey Burgers: Place burgers on the preheated grill. Cook for 4-5 minutes covered, flip then cook for another 3 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  7. Serve: remove from the grill and serve on a lettuce wrap topped with Noble Made Buffalo Ranch Dressing.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar

  • 1/4 cup chopped dill pickles

  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1/2 tbsp dried minced onion (or 1/4 cup fresh minced onion)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 2 tsp avocado oil

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to Bake at 350°F.
  2. In a large skillet, heat 1 tsp avocado oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until it begins to brown.
  4. Add in dried minced onion, garlic powder, tomato paste, chopped dill pickles, and coconut aminos and mix until everything is evenly combined.
  5. Add meat mixture to the bottom of a greased pie pan.
  6. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together cheddar cheese, eggs, and almond flour until combined evenly.
  7. Pour the egg, cheese, and almond flour mixture on top of the ground beef mixture evenly.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes or until the egg mixture is cooked all the way through.
  9. Let cool for 10 minutes, slice, and serve hot with a side of a thousand island dressing.
